Jimmie picked up sharpening as a teenager in 1987 and never put it down. After raising a family and honing his craft, he “retired” in 2006—then promptly launched a sharpening shop in 2008 as a retirement project. It grew to a 12-person team serving notable clients—from celebrity kitchens to law enforcement and military units, plus serious collectors. Along the way, Jimmie built a mail-in program that took the business national—and then worldwide. In 2020, he stepped back again, selling the company to his best friend (it’s still thriving).
